Meenakshi Iyer

Meenakshi Iyer is a sophomore At Redmond High school. She started learning Carnatic music at the age of 4 from her mother Smt Lakshmi Lakshmanan. She started learning from Dr. Sanjay Subramanian when she was 9 years old. She also started choir when she began middle school. Additionally, she has been learning Jazz, Western Classical and Hindustani vocal. Her solo performance was selected for state at the Washington Music Educators Association last year and this year she was selected for her large ensemble and duet performance. From 2022, she has been under the tutelage of Vidwan Shri Kunnakudi Balamurali Krishna. She utilizes her passion towards the arts by teaching kids traditional Indian art and Carnatic songs.
